Personalised learning pathways reflecting the learning objectives of the educators

The Learning Pathways are based on the results of the self-assessment with the Assessment Tool. That way individual learning goals are set and addressed. Its modules target core elements that can lead to marginalization in educational settings, including disregard for marginalized life circumstances, lack of skills in creating inclusive environments, and difficulty in identifying and resolving conflicts. Our learning pathways will empower educators to create inclusive learning environments and safer spaces for their learners. We will develop at least four modules:

  • MODULE 1 LGBTQIA+ identities in the classroom - Terms and life-realities: Understanding the different realities of people who identify as LGBTQIA+, helping trainers to develop a deeper critical understanding of their own beliefs, assumptions, prejudices, and behaviours.
  • MODULE 2 Understanding intersectionality: Developing an understanding of the concept of intersectionality and the multi-directional relationship between education and belonging to more than one marginalized/disadvantaged group.
  • MODULE 3 Inclusive learning environments: Creating a representative and inclusive learning environment (e.g. gender-inclusive language, ways to create inclusive learning content).
  • MODULE 4 Classroom management skills & conflict resolution: Identifying and resolving discrimination and/or conflicts, and supporting adult LGBTQIA+ learners through them.

With the acquired knowledge, educators evolve into Diversity Trainers, equipped to recognize and address discriminatory elements affecting LGBTQIA+ learners in adult education settings. As we continue our work, we remain responsive to the outcomes of our research. Additional modules may be developed based on the findings of our Social Report.
